BBC Wiltshire: Justin Hawkins headlines Moonfest 09
Justin Hawkins, ex-frontman of the spandex clad four-piece The Darkness, is not renowned for his low key entrances.

On past tours, The Darkness faithful have not only been witness to an extreme range of costume changes and a barrage of pyrotechnics but on his last tour they also got to see the band's lead singer flying over their heads astride a life-sized tiger.

But according to Justin, now fronting up his new band Hot Leg, this will be nothing compared to the entrance he's got planned for this year's Moonfest 2009.

Despite his entrance being a 'closely guarded secret' it's already rumoured that the headline act will be hitting the stage, at the Storridge Farm festival in Westbury, along with a barrage of high wires, helicopters and pyrotechnics:

"Yes all those things are involved to a degree," says Justin. "It will be the most spectacular entrance that I've ever done at any show ever."

Which is all good news for the organisers who, last year, saw the Wiltshire festival cancelled at the last minute after police raised concerns over public order partly after it was announced that the headline act would be Pete Doherty and his band the Babyshambles.

Since then Moonfest has not only been granted an entertainment licence, for Westbury's Storridge Farm, but despite being at the boutique end of the festival spectrum has also managed to bag Justin Hawkins to headline:

"It will probably be a more intimate kind of a whites of their eyes moment particularly when they see what will unfold," says Justin "but I think it's going to be totally spectacular and awesome."
Moonfest 2009, descends on Westbury's Storridge Farm on Sunday 30th August, 2009.
